The excellence scholarships are devised as loans, in order to be sustainable and support more people: “I have tried to set aside and make a contribution of EUR85,000 (USD100,000), so that this wouldn’t be a one-time opportunity, for a single generation of students: that is why it is a loan, but it can be returned partially.” The Master’s students will be awarded 40 scholarships, around EUR90 per month, during the 10 months of the academic year; doctoral students will receive 20 scholarships of EUR160 per month. Depending on their academic performance, the students will return the loan partially, or in its entirety. The deadline for submitting the application is November 15th, and the Call for scholarships is held by the National Council of the Hungarian Ethnic Minority.
